Meta-gestures 1.1 (Candy-Bleed Prophecy)

Insanity is a function of difference. Seclusion from the system. Or at least we dictate it as such. Essentially, we fail to see that difference in essence. Because the ironic fact is, albeit all the differences, both sides of the function is one and the same.

We just refuse to see it to the end.

“In all matters of opinion, our adversaries are insane.” - Oscar Wilde.

Jiwo in his constant effort to bleed people's eyes with colors

The Meta-gestures series are dedicated to the act of gestures beyond gestures. It is for the things we have always missed. That we no longer see. That we, in the age of empirical precision and definition, have almost completely forgotten about.

It is about art, the expression of life, and everything beyond.

Meta-gestures 1.0

What's beyond? Keep thinking that it is simple as such.
Keep being blind.

Eluded from self. Do you reflect at all on the very systems you depend on?

Meta-gestures 1.0 (Eating What's Left; The Ghost That Ain't Me)

Again, what's beyond?
Hidden in plain sight.

Pulchritude

Word of the day:

pulchritude \PUL-kruh-tood; -tyood\, noun:
That quality of appearance which pleases the eye; beauty; comeliness; grace; loveliness.

Class over. Here's some pictas!

The elf's rest

The elf's rest is another personal turning point for me. Not in a technical perspective. I know how rough it is. But who cares? =)

Reverie

Dancing, like the act of drawing, painting, is a ritual of expression. Is it weird that I feel that visual art could as much dance and sing and speak and, and, everything? The limitations of a medium...perhaps we, the artist ourselves created that.

Pinky minky ngee!

A mess of pink love for my dear dear debbie. Sorry I haven't been drawing for you much these days =)

Also, this is a tribute to adijin's pinky. Thank you for being awesome.

The human pursuance

Here's a 2010 resume.
Although 2010 is ending in like, 20 nanoseconds.

The long disappearance. I don't have an ounce of excuse to offer.
Some people call it time-wasting. I call it "searching".

So what have we (really) learnt so far?

Stick to your values. Straying away into materialistic make-do's will just deteriorate oneself.
Perhaps it can offer you a flicker of imposed satisfaction.
Fake feelings.
Fake values.
A fake of a fake.

"Plastic" isn't the right word, but it's the first word that comes to mind.

Here, now, I am, struggling. The war is a perpetual one; a life-long effort.

You're somewhere.
You're nowhere.

You're always a soldier of life. Your ammunitions will run low. Sooner than you think, they'll be gone. All your materialistic components, gone.
Nada.
Zero.

Soldier. Your values, are your best friends.

The Brainplode Stimuli

The Brainplode Stimuli is a portfolio update for the year 2010. Why? Cos I need a job now! HIRE ME! The Brainplode Stimuli is also the title I gave for the piece of artwork made in the purpose of becoming the portfolio's cover.

The Brainplode Stimuli [Shahril Majid's 2010 Awesomefolio]

The Brainplode Stimuli

It is my first personal piece of work on canvas. It was fun. It was challenging. Just what I needed, an escape from the digital medium. Something more tangible. Something that exists in real space; that I would interact with, that I would confront. Something that is 'there'.

It was enlightening.

Don't get me wrong. I love digital. But it's just, two, varying, incomparable subjects. And I'm saying I need a bit of both.

All that, and, I. Need. A. Job. Spread the word people! Spread it like creep tumors!

Bleeding candy colors

Was doing some work before an inspiration surge struck me, leading me to this.

Blank: Fire deity to the rescue!

A nonchalantly painted visualization for a game project a few of us are turtling on. A lot more will come.

And Blank is a temporary working title.

For the lack of an interesting title:

Here's an update. I think I'm getting used to this =)
Discovered some crucial things in drawing bgs. And in color-blending in general. I think I can keep the pace up. Yosh!
